Reinvented fine Chinese Cuisine by Howard Cai
Howard’s Gourmet was founded by Mr. Howard Cai, who first established ‘Howard’s Gourmet Workshop’ in Guangzhou China in 2005. Aim to expressing a Chinese cuisine that is simple yet refined and distinctive, Mr. Cai has applied his knowledge of chemistry and science on improving the cooking techniques to perfection. Over the past decade, his creativity and his own interpretation of Chinese cuisine honored Mr. Cai the international acclamation with his famous Howard’s gourmet experience worldwide.
Acclaimed around China the highly anticipated restaurant Howard’s Gourmet opened in Hong Kong December 2015. Strategically located in the heart of Central in CCB Tower, Howard’s Gourmet overlooking the beautiful Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Observation Wheel. In March 2018, Howard’s Gourmet is expanding to northern China for the first time. Mr. Cai himself chose the location for his new restaurant, the recently opened landmark mall WF Central in the heart of the Wangfujing commercial district. Later on, Howard’s Gourmet was further expanded and established in Guangzhou and Hangzhou, and these two new restaurants were soon recognized as one of the leading fine Chinese restaurants in China.
FOUNDER OF HOWARD’S GOURMET
Howard Cai is a well-known gourmand, whisky connoisseur and international judge in the culinary space. In 2005, he established his own brand “Howard’s Gourmet Workshop” in Guangzhou, built on two culinary philosophies: “Ingredients always come first” and “Taste is the absolute principal”. Having previously worked in the chemistry field, Chef Cai approaches cooking with a scientific mindset, and is meticulous in his quest to perfect cooking techniques and uncover the underlying principles behind food. This unique approach underscores the menu at Howard’s Gourmet, his flagship restaurant which has skyrocketed to international acclaim.
We offer daily tasting menus, while our lunch menu^ is $1,380 up per person and dinner menu^ is $2,380 per person. The menu is designed and presented with a mix of ‘classic’, ‘seasonal’ and ‘creative’ dishes and changes according to season and market availability daily.
